Predator transmission woes
#1
5 weeks ago I dropped my predator off at the local Polaris dealer because 3rd gear disappeared at the dunes. I've never abused my transmission by power shifting or shifting without the clutch. I noticed 3rd gear would intermittently disengage under full power then quickly engage again. After about 3 of those hickups it just disappeared. Evidently when it went it damaged some other components in the tranny. The dealer is supposedly rebuilding the entire tranny. They tell me they can't finish rebuilding the tranny because Polaris has a clip on back order. They need 2 part#3085534 clips to finish the job. This ticks me off that Polaris can't maintain inventory on spare parts for their tranny which has had a history of failing. My quest is to track down 2 of these clips so they can finish the job. Anybody know where I can find em? Or does anybody know of a channel at Polaris I can contact to speed this process up?
Thanks

According to the parts diagram at Partsland, those part # clips are the piston pin clips. They are $1.25 a piece. I am sure that you can get at HPD, Hot Seat, Aaen, or any other place that carriers pistion. Or, you can upgrade to a high compression piston and it should come with the piston
