Default need to improve rear suspension on 04 Magnum

Hello! New to forum. I just purchased 04 Magnum 330 4x4. After riding it for few weeks, rear springs seemed too soft to support 210 rider. Need your advice of how to improve suspension or change for a stiffer spring. Cannot find after market products for this model. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jack

you should be ablel to adjust your rear shock with a spanner wrench to get it tighter in the rear.

Default need to improve rear suspension on 04 Magnum

It's already cranked up to the lowest notch and rose the bike up about 1". I thought about changing the oem spring to a thicker after market type. Are there any cross reference for spring/shock replacement for 04 Magnum?

Thanks,
Jack

Wish you were having a better experience with the Magnum. As a matter of fact, I am surprised. Our '00 Magnum has one of the most forgiving and comfortable rides I've ever been on while off road! I realize there are 4 years difference, but I think they are still pretty similar. The Magnum's weight seems well-balanced with its suspension. Our Boss has a similar suspension, but it is 70 pounds lighter. The Mag just "feels" better".

Polaris has 'stiffer' springs available, usually around $20 - $30 or so. Just have your dealer check out the accessories catalog, and they will be listed there somewhere. You could also have them look up the specs for the spring in their service manual, and find one with a stronger rating.
Perhaps the rear spring off the old 500 Magnum would be stiffer?

Larry,

You are absolutely right about ride comfort.........being on the dirt bike for periods of time like mx and woods riding and not used to more comfortable riding. I will try to get used to it. Thanks for your advice.

Farmr,

I will look into Polaris dealership about springs. But right now I will prolly wait till the spring start to sag. Thank you for directing me to the source where to find parts.
