2002 Sportsman 90 lights?
#2
I am not sure if there are any aftermarket lights available for the 90. Polaris Industries do not put lights on the youth quads because they do not believe that children should be riding at night.

I just bought a 2004 Sportsman 90 for my kids. I wanted a light on for safety so I just put one in myself. Now I hate things that look cheesy, so I did a custom job and it turned out great. I went to an RV store and bought a "flush mount" 12 volt halogen light. I then removed the "fake" headlight lens and cut the correct size hole in the back plate. Tow spring clips hold the light in place. The best part about the RV light kit is that it tilts up and down so ou can easily adjust it for proper lighting. I then installed a simple switch and it was set to go. It works perfect. -Steve

be very careful with after market lights! You don't want to go over 35 amps or the stator can't keep up and you will run out of juice. I have been looking at a set of WARN atv trail lights, 35 amps a piece and will use the other on my truck for a backup light

I used a 12 volt, 10 watt light. Thats only .833 amps per hour. Since the Sportsman 90 has a 4.5 amp/hour batter, that means the light can run 5.76 hours if the battery is fully charged. That is not taking into account any power generated from the engine and dumped back into the battery. -Steve

I also want to install lights in the eyes of my 2004 50 cc predator. I have been unable to find a light kit to install lights in the eyes. I was told that Eton made a kit for just this type of application. So far I cannot find it anywhere. I have installed a square light under the front. It uses an 1157 bulb (turn signal) run to the battery. When at idle with the light on, the horn will only squalk. When the idle is raised the horn chirps normal. Have I reached the Max output with this small light ? How much drain can an 1157 bulb draw??
