Default 600 wont start..

Hello motorist!

My 600 wouldnt start yesterday. It was extremely cold ( 4 degrees ), it ran for about 1 minute and then died and wouldnt start. I tried for about a half an hour to get it to run and it wouldnt. It turns but wouldn't fire.. Any suggestions..

Thanks,

Hank

If possible, have it in a heated garage next time.
4 degrees is getting down there.
Could be moisture in the gas, and it froze going thru the carb. Could be lean jetting, on the pilot circuit.

Sounds like an ice blockage. I have used a hair dryer on my snowmobile when this has happened before. At 25 it probably still will not thaw out unless in the sun and out of wind.

well it also could be the throttle cable tension, it could be too loose....tighten it by pulling back the rubber sleeves right were the cable goes into the pod....

I will give that a try. I turned on the heat last night and let my shed heat up. I also adjusted the fuel air mix but it did not help. I will try some fresh gas and some dry gas tonight..

Might also try a spray of starting fluid into the carb.

Cranked up my 700 this afternoon for first time in 1.5 weeks. Took a bit but got going let warm up 15 mins still chugged a bit but ran out in the woods for about an hour. Was about 14 out.

Really pissed now.. tried fresh gas.. Took the cover off the thumb throttle to make sure the 2 little pieces of metal werent touching..

I adjusted the air fuel mix and that didnt help.. I might have fowled the plugs.. I'm throwing darts now..

You flooded it and fouled the plugs. Pull the plugs crank the engine to blow out excess gas install fresh plugs (heat them with a propane torch if you can) she will start right up. Jay
