Default I got good and Bad news today....

Bad news is that my ole man took in his Predator to have a High Comp. Piston and Valve springs on it today to have it ready for this wk ends race, well when they were tearing it apart, they found the pin to the Rod had come off and the roc was demolished I have no clue what this will cost to replace, they said it whould be covered under our Ext. Warrenty. Not sure if theres damage to the Cylinder yet looks like no race on it this race everything else loked good I think,in fact they siad this was the cleanest motor they had seen in years... The good news was, My Bday is coming up later this month, and all I know is I have something sweet coming for my 400ex!!!! he wont give me any hints.!! But I know he asked me about what colors I would go with (I was pretty sure it was a PC job but I dunno) then he hinted about a dampener, but I think its something BIGGER!! He told me about what price range he spent which makes me wonder.hmmm what did I get !! This is going to drive me nuts! Looks like he will be sharing my quad this wks race..... Tina

Tina, sorry to hear about the motor blues. No matter how well we take care of them, sometimes thing still go bump in the night when they're pushed in racing. If you can work a deal, getting an aftermarket, high compression piston in there, really does wonders. The revs build sooo fast, it's hard to keep up shifting.....and that's a good thing.

I think I remember you looking for a steering stem before, did you see the price and pic of the HPD unit in my pics?

Good luck on your B-Day.....I bet you're a box shaker aren't you! I cold busted my girlfriend at Christmas, just a shakin' away. I did my best academy award performance of trying to convince her it was fragile, and she had probably broken her gift.....when she almost cried, I broke out laughing.....then it got REALLY cold in my house. Doh! She got over it Christmas eve. hehe.

The list price on the stock rod is $54.99. I'd call around to Nicholas, HPD, or Hot Seat, even Rath to search for aftermarket solutions. For racing purposes, just ask HPD for decals, it tickles him pink to know they'd be flying around a race track.

I just talked to Ben over at Rath's shop, there isn't a current aftermarket unit from them yet....yet! Although they're workin' on one.

good news!!! Damage was minimal, Polaris Star will be over to look it over before cutting a check, I guess there could be more when they open it up and look at the crank, but I dont think so..... Say!!!!!~~~~~ Do you think this coud be possible MODQUAD~~~ Would the stock Carb off the Predator work for my 400ex????? Stock on mine is a 35mm ??? Just curious...
