It seems every post I see cracks the 400. I think mine is great. Let's hear from some other SP400 owners.

Thats the issue, I think we worry about what everyone else thnks, WAY to often.
In the days of 700 CC twins, 400's are tiny.
BUT I didnt buy mine to race, I bought it for specific riding styles. It fills that need nicely.
I also think the 400 is one of the most reliable of Polaris motors. Been around for quite some time!

Just don't tell them you have 335 SP, I've read nothing real good about them but I like mine.

Mine is the '03, I love it. But, I do wish I would have gotten the scrambler just because I tend to ride my sportsman a lot harder than it was designed for.

Well, That was my thought last year when I baught this one. I wanted a sportsman for hunting and a Yamaha WR 450 for playing. Then I would have both. Besides my 3 yr old boy thinks bike are the coolest thing and my daughter wont get on one anymore. I think I scared her with too many wheelies.
The plan was working till I flipped the quad over backwards on about a 15 foot hill. Now the wife says "Its yours ,I want my own.
So now I just ride the **** out of it and have fun.
