HMMM lets line em up and find out!! An automatic can be your best friend in the woods and in a drag. All it takes is the right clutching and it will pull like mad.

i had my tranny ripped up pretty bad to. i just put a new chain on and i didnt have the 2 bolts tight enough and i was doing some donuts on the wet road and stuff and i guess it made it get tighter and once i got moving pretty good around 50 the chain snapped and both end rapped around the small sproket so tight the the one half of the case broke in 3 pieces and broke 2 of the gears inside in half ,the chain inside, and the rod the gears goes on got bent, so i got on partsland to see how much a new tranny cost and they was like a 1000 bucks. but theres a guys about 40 mins away from me that works on polaris atvs and he built me a new one that he says is stronger then orginal, as for the case he had a couple atvs the he junked for parts that had one on and he used it and i only paid like 200 for all of that so check around to see if anyone can fix it around your area

If he couldn't tighten a chain, do you think the rest of the quad was in any better shape? I don't know what the hill was like and the Polaris may not have gotten up it anyway, but it's suspect.

Well the hill wasnt big at all it was actally small. And he got a run for it about 50 yards long and couldnt get up it. Not saying polaris are bad. But hey his tread wasnt to great either.

Alright back to the tranny problem, He didnt change his chain since he got it or the sprocket since 3 years ago, And another thing is that he was going up alittle hill almost flat and he punched it and all he heard was a snap and he couldnt move and oil spilled out.

what exactly is the point that your trying to make kawasaki88man? Not trying to rag on ya man, but I think its pretty obvious here that this fella just doesn't know anything about how to maintain a vehicle. His parents shouldn't let him have it if he can't even take care of it, or take it to someone who can.....and if hes an adult......lord help him. As another person said if he doesn't even know how to adjust his chain I'd say his quad is pretty trashed as well.
