I am asking this for a co-worker...When you put it in reverse, sometimes it will engage and at times it will not. When it will not engage he can roll it back about two feet and then it will engage into reverse.

He called a local dealer and the advice he got there was that the linkage might need adjusted. The local dealer also suggested that the "dog" might be broke off? Anyway I posted this question for you all before he begins looking at it more because I think you can help out more.

Could be the linkage. It could also be that the reverse gear needs to be shimmed. I had to do this on my old Cyclone. Getting it in gear was similar to your coworker.
