predator upgrades

Modquad, no one is questioning what it takes to win races, usually all other things being close the best driver wins. your heading off in your own direction trying to change the original discussion, which pipe works the best. And the answer is, it depends on what rpm your going to spend the most time as to which pipe will be best. Now if you want to get into set-ups we can discuss that also, The best set up for my kind of racing is measured by 60' times, and we know how to get it out of the hole.
Hozed you are also correct, stock Preds run trap speeds of 69mph on certified timing systems all the time. Now if your racing a bike not properly tuned with stock gears 67 may be all it will do.

Or if you're running totally stock machines, and the particular environmental variations will weigh in, depending on where, and when you run them.
The results of the calibrated radar run can be found on pg 37 of the March 2004 issue of ATV Sport. Now, seeing as how some don't know, I will tell you that your results will vary depending on current climatic conditions.
Hmmm, 60' times are nice, but once again, failing to look at the big picture, you can find yourself loosing on the top end. Let's pick gearing....too tall of a gear will max out your machine prematurely. This will leave you screaming far before the finish line, only to wait til your competition passes you by. Pic too shallow of a gear, and you just wasted your time by operating your machine out of it's powerband.
Once again, you must take all the numbers presented in front of you, then do the math for the entire equation.....skip a step, and you're on the trailer.
I know what works well in my world, that's why there's two quads in it, one for drags, and one for harescrambles. Hmmm, there's another big picture schooling in that statement....just waiting to come out.

Wild, there's a pic of one on a bench in my gallery. You could either contact HPD (HPD-inc.com), or Nicholas cycle (Nicholascycle.com) and I'm sure either would be more than happy to send you a pic.
Winter?! Alabama?! Good grief, I'd be testing and tuning all year long there. Ever been out in -10 w/ groomed snow? Hmmm, a perfect environment for year round real world testing.
I line up against anyone....you should take your tunnel vision and try a local harescramble or a GNCC race...Now that's REAL racing.

Mod, 90mph passes in 25 degree weather is not high on my agenda, It's hunting season here and
that takes priority over everything. You can have the snow, lived in Denver a couple of years, had all of it i wanted. We just get everything ready for the spring, I play on the trails, ride with the Little's (them brother's are fast and crazy) from time to time. Greg who is Kieth's older brother helps me get things set up properly and keeps me up with soft compound tires for the strip. I just drag raced my entire life and that's what I enjoy, my hats off to the MX guys, there good. Kieth can kick my butt in a drag at will. Back to that driver ability thing. I look foward to lining them up, this 525 powervalve motor we been playing with needs some competition, the Pred is no match.
