Default Xplorer 250 reverse override

I have looked at the wiring diagram that comes with my xplorer and as much as I can figure it should be wired like this

you will need a 5 pin relay labeled 85,86,87a,87 and 30 (i think it is an RY-48 but dont quote me)

locate the wires to the override switch
cut the GRY/OR allowing enough room to connect to both ends
find a suitable hidden out of harms way location for the relay
connect switch end of GRY/OR to the 30 terminal
connect the harness end of GRY/OR to terminal 87a
connect terminal 87 GRY/W comming from override switch without cutting GRY/W
connect terminal 85 to ground
connect terminal 86 to the PURPLE wire going to the override switch without cutting the PURPLE wire

NOTE- you may find 3 PURPLE wires comming out of one connector under the headlight (most likly where you are hiding relay) any of the 3 should be ok
one comes from the reverse switch in the trany one goes to the reverse light and the other goes to the override switch the connector is a splice for the three

I havent wired this up yet but I will this weekend
I will post my results but if anyone has an easier way or has tried it before I repost please let us know

I know there are easier ways to do the same thing as far as wiring goes but this way will give you 4X4 in reverse all the time and the reverse light wont be on when you are in forward range as well IF you do push the switch nothing will happen such as power going the wrong way or anything like when using the jumper method

if you dont want the 4X4 engaged all the time but want reverse to be full power looks like all you need to do is locate the rev limiter and cut the GRY/OR wire
then if you want 4X4 while in reverse you need to still push button

Default Xplorer 250 reverse override

this wiring works perfectly!!!!!!!!!!

I installed it and tried it in the snow
no reverse light on in forward or anything

-no rev limiter anymore
-4x4 instantly in reverse when AWD switch is on

may work with other models but not sure I would need to see the wiring diagram
