Hozed if your worried about running into the rev limiter to soon, instead of getting a new CDI why not just change your gearing? If its going to be more powerful, and get to redline faster, why not lengthen that distance to that rpm level? If your making more power, then the motor should be able to pull the taller gearing, right?

12.5:1 you could run a 50/50 mix of 93 and a 100 octane race fuel.

They are very tricky in their advertisement and I would try to avoid that at all costs.

Best bet is to find your nearest VP dealer and buy it 5 gallon at a time in the metal barrels.

Then keep your compression down, it is the only way around it that is cost efficient. 11:1 you might be able to get away with 93, pretty sure 10.5 would be fine.

That sound kinda high, but it depends on which flavor of VP you going to buy. Try to find a torco dealer , my buddy sell it and I can get 114 octane for around 6 a gal.
