Default Gnarly Pipe for 400 Scrambler 4X4

I was told that I did not need to jet the carb. Need some help here thanks Rex

Thats what I thought. How do I find out which one? Do you know if I will have to mod. the air box for a K&N filter?

The company that makes your pipe should recommend a jet size.. If not i am not sure one of the 400 guys would know.. No a k&n should just drop right in for ya....

If you dont have a pipe yet i would go with one from HPD they are the best by far...

when i put my pipe on my 400 and filter and cut the air box for better flow i used a 220 main droped the e-clip two spots and turned the iddle screw a half of turn but i live at 1500elevation if you live at a higher elevation it will be diferent or lower elevations and different temps

i got the fmf gnarly pipe on mine and it runs great with the stock jetting i dont know why but that is how it came the other day i checked fmf web site and it said to use a 260 main in temps above 60 degrees
i tried to find you a link but they are redoing there site and the jetting section is not up yet...

so you like the gnarly pipe? I was going to order it tonight but they are out of stock on the sliencer, so i think i will hold off. where did you get yours from? thanks rex

its a good pipe if your into low end i like it because the silencer is nice and quiet im not into loud pipes
my 250 is about twice as loud as my 400.

racerxx what was your stock jetting i have 2 stock carbs and they both had a 230 jet in them stock
i have never heard of someone getting a pipe and going leaner on there main.

in the book it says 200 and when i rejeted it said 200 on the jet

xxxracerxxx has an earlyer 400 quad that has different porting than the 96 on up 400's he is jetting correctly for his year quad. And I would go up 2 to 3 jet sizes up for a pipe.
