Default Purchase a TrailBlazer 250?

If budget is your concern you can buy a great used 250 for or around $1,500-$1,800. These are great machines. Just make sure it has been taken care of these things will last. Good luck.

my first atv was a 2001 trailblazer. I was very pleased with it. It did lack a little low end power, but i think it would be great for your son and wife. worth every penny.

Hey 96yukon,

I just bought the Red Trail Blazer 250 Limited Edition for 3699.00. My dealer said the price was a tad higher than the normal 250 Trail Blazer mainly due to the aluminum wheels. It is an awesome looking bike, everyone that has seen it has been very impressed, including a couple that aren't into ATV.s.

Default Purchase a TrailBlazer 250?

O.K. guys,

Now I am more confused than ever. I was set on getting a TrailBlazer 250 but when I went to the dealer I spotted the Honda 250EX and the Suzuki Z250. Those are both nice bikes. I know this is a Polaris forum so I am going to need some honest opinions about some of the bikes listed above.

The only reason I am considering switching is because after having my son sit on the TrailBlazer it may be too big for him. I know he could grow into it but the thing dwarfed him. He said he didn't feel comfortable at all. Just in case you are wondering, he said this before we even saw the other two bikes. They were around the corner and he couldn't see them.

The 250EX and the Z250 seemed a better fit. The Z250 was a little wider in the gas tank area but both machines seem very similar. Both machines are 4 strokes which doesn't really matter to me but it would be nice not to pay $5QT for oil. I guess the other main difference is the transmission. While the Polaris is an Automatic the other two have and Auto Clutch that you just have to press the gear lever. He is used to this since he has ridden three wheelers. I wanted to avoid a clutch since he and the wife would have a hard time shifting that. The other difference is the brakes. Polaris has the one lever and the others have the two on the handlebars and the right foot like the Polaris.

Since being comfortable on a bike is important what would you guys do? Both bikes seemed like they would be big enough for my wife to ride too. I could hardly tell a difference between them and the Honda 300EX size wise in the seat area.

All of the bikes seemed to be in the same price area too.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks.

z250 and 250ex are great bikes too (in their class)

shaft driven, a bit smaller, and super reliable

I have heard nothing but good things for all three

it really comes down to size of rider, width of trails you plan to ride, and what feels best to the rider
