Piston Pin Stuck, Use Propane torch to get off?
#1
My friend has an idea of getting my piston pin off by getting the top of the piston warm and than letting it warm the pin so we can than hit it out. I kinda fried my piston in the midrange and melted a lil hole on the top of the piston, so now i'm buying some stuff so it doens't happen again.. Whats your guy's imput???

That is just going to make it worse aluminum expands a lot when heated and it will just make it harder...
You can make a tool like it did for this.. Get a piece of all thread, pipe a few washers and nuts.. This tool will work if the wrist pin is hollow all the way through... If you want a pic of this tool PM me with your email addy and i will send you a pic of it and how to make it...

I have a little trick for you....it works on outboard motors, basicly the same, put it in the freezer until it is cold/frozen than heat the piston.
The piston is alum and will swell faster than the pin and rod so it will just about fall out!
Good luck,
Russ
