no arctic cat did not have the 900 for 10 years already. the zr 900 is in the arctic lineup since late 2002 as an early 2003 model, was in the 2004 lineup and will be in the 2005. it is a two stroke two cylinder machine with electronic controlled power valves. the 900 you are talking about is the thundercat 900 who originated back in 1994 and was eventually replaced in 1998 by the thundercat 1000. those are triple triple machines with no power valves.

The Thundercat 900 started as a 1993 model, that is 11 years ago according to my math. And the 1000 Thundercat replaced it in 1995, not 1998. You are correct that was a three cylinder, but even so the two cylinder ZR 900 with APV is out years before this new Polaris. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to mock Polaris or make fun of them, just stating that the 900 isn't a new breakthrough. Either are their new A-arms which are on my 1990 Prowler. I love Polaris machines and look forward to riding them, don't take this as a bash.

i known, the t-cat and triple triple market is dead, but those high end twin are the new way to go,,actually the headlights have a predator look like when you see it in face, tougher looking, and strong impressions.
those 900 have nothing to do with the old 900 it came out some years ago, they're semi direct injection,a-arms is the new trend on today's sleds.when i tell "future" it mean triple market is gone and those big twin are the way to go,lighter, better handling and some interesting power to weight response.

littleboy,i beg to differ on your picks, the first one is true tough, yamaha are the most reliable but you should consider that almost the whole line-up is going 4 stroke in 05.

if someone can find me a thundercat 1000 from 1995 i would be happy to see it and by the way a 1996 and a 1997 too! i'd like to see what they look like!!! the thundercat 900 saw the day in early1993 but it also happened to be the winter of 93-94 so it is called a 94 model as it as always been for all models snowmobiles. i am sure scramblered can attest to this information and acknowledge that i am right cause he seems to be among the very few that know what they are talking about. a snowmobile from the 2003-2004 winter will be called a 2004 model. the even newer models from the 2004-2005 winter are called 2005. and so on. by the way i saw the new mach z 1000 from bombardier and its sinister black look is awesome. the new 2005 yamahas d'ont care about them, the 2005 arctic cat no big changes. but i c'ant wait to see the 2005 polaris. last night i saw for the first time this winter a 2004 pro xr 800 and lemme tell ya this is one incredible machine and my favorite sled this winter along my zr 900. this pro xr 800 is the baddest sled i have ever seen.

OK first off id like to say, polaris copied arctic cat and ski-doo but is anybody copying polaris?? I think NOT. That engine is a laid down style with the pipes and carbs on the same side, from arctic cat, that seat looks straight from a rev as well, even the same damn lines!!! Thats that, however I am a bit ticked, as of now Arctic Cat has the BEST HP available, 140 from a 700, not bad at all. Finally polaris has gotten with the times with a-arms, it still wont have the narrow tunnel/track of the arctic cat and wont be as light (garunteed) so when the new F-cats with the forward and up seating positon roll off the line in 05 itll be all between the manufactures. Im gonna take a wild guess and say the arctic cats will be best and heres why.

Narrow tunnel- agile feel and great running board width
awesome ergos- best bars in the business
HP Monster- 700 with 140 HP awesome
Rev seating positon- its just the way to go
still a lot hotter than that fusion.....
Electronic Fuel Injection <-- best in business
Arctic cat reliability super reliable, and those recalls arent for stuff thats wrong with the sled, the company just keeps improving it even after youve bought it.
And a lower center of gravity, I can tell already by looking at the pics of that thing
The best a-arm front suspension money can buy

Need I say more??? I think with these 2 new sleds the competition will be fierce, and itll be interesting, but i still say arctic cat all the way!!
