Default Corrosive Spots on New EFI?

Hi all!!

Got the new bike yestarday, it took two off my buddys about 9 hours to turn it into a monster.

But back to the problem.......

When I picked up the bike yestarday the dearler told me that he had already order a replacement set of rims because mine have rust spots on them when the bike got uncrated. will that was ok because I was putting on tracks.

While I was closing the deal my buddy loaded the bike on the truck.

after most of the bike was togetter last I got a close up look,

ALL OF THE WHITE METAL IS full of HEAVY CORROSIVE SPOTS, I mean all
over!!!!!
The gear cases, motor, struts, everything!!

The bike I traded in was 9 months old and has been out in the salted winter roads, and gets lots of salt spray, but there was NOT a spot of rust
or anything in any of my white metal.

I call the dealer today, he said that he can reture the bike and get me a new one shipped in, or give me a refund, BUT THE BIKE IS NOW all decked out and will cost me more money to get the bike stripped, and refitted OME, and then get the new bike dressed again.

The dealer is in contact with polaris canada to see what they will do.

what would be fair??

what should polaris do??

what could they offer me to make it right?

I really don't want to have this bike stripped again, to much money.

Please tell what you would do?? PLEASE

:-( I wonder if there were any other EFI's like this??
I did not notice, because I did not het a closeup look until most of the work was finished.
Whydid the dealership not notice it??
They told me when I picked it up, that they had topped up all fluids, for me, and checked all drain Plugs, and they did notice the inside of the rims, so why then did they NOT notice all the White metal with CORROSIVE SPOTS??

You're not the only one. When I picked up my 03 Sportsman 500 last October, the front hubs started leaking almost immediately. I took the hub caps off and found rust inside the hub body between the O-ring and the outside of the hub. Apparently, those hubs sat out somewhere and condensation developed in there (the cap is vented). It's an awful feeing when your brand new machine already has rust on it, but I just cleaned it out, put some grease in there, and they haven't leaked again. I love my Sportsman, and will buy another one someday, but I have to admit that some of Polaris' reputation is deserved.

IT'S YOUR DEALER that's to blame, not POLARIS!

some Dealers store their inventory OUTSIDE...........in plastic wrap!.....guess what it's like inside that wrap in the sun, rain, cold, and heat?....that's right!....condensation!

a GOOD Dealer isn't CHEAP!

a GOOD Dealer will store their inventory INSIDE so the elements won't affect the ATV.

try a different Dealer.............

My dealer does store their inventory inside. Furthermore, the dealership is in Riverside, California. This is a semi-desert area. Not much humidity here.
