I have a 04 sp 500 i was wondering if anyone has any easy ways of getting more top end out of it.i have a k&n,but havnt jetted anything yet,not sure what jets i need either?

 

I dont have the 500 sportsman but running the k&n should not require a jet change.They were probably delivered a little fat from the factory.Dont add a pipe,too loud and expensive for very little performance gain.Stock 500 exhausts are quite efficient.Without getting into hotter cams,larger valves,overbores,and porting, Id leave this engine alone.Dont sacrifice reliability for speed.Just my opinion.Scott.
