Predator oil and filter substitutes??
Are there any good substitutes for the engine oil and filter besides the Polaris stuff? My buddy just got an 03 Pred and has the same problem I have, dealer is 45 miles away. Does Amsoil make a good substitute? Do you need a transmission oil as well, or does the engine oil lube the trans too? Thanxs guys

Big Bad, The filter for the Pred is "supposedly" the same as whats on the 400ex. Try a search on it theres a few threads on it. There is also a cross reference(again in another thread somewhere) to a Napa filter. Search around as the X-files said......."the truth is out there"........ Lucky for me I have a Polaris dealer 5 minutes down the street from me, so I can pop in pretty easily. But I still do like Hozed said, I buy like 3-4 at a time and a big ol' jug of oil

the oil has nothing to do with it.. it was the bad forks and drum. if it was the oil.. polaris would have changed that.. not all the engine parts.
as far as what weight oil... i am still to find out what weight the PS4 is... but i ran a 10w-40 and it shifted alot better.
i think the ps4 is a 0w-40.
