Default Which reeds for a stock 99 sport 400?

Im looking at getting some new reeds. My brother in law rides dirt bikes and he is telling me to get some reeds for some more power. Will this work? Is this a good upgrade? Which ones do I get. I mainly do trail riding with hills, some rocks and some high speed trails but Im not to woried about top speed. Im more into bottom end. I dont need to blast 80 mph threw the woods. Do I need to rejet if i upgrade the reeds? I dont want to mess with that now. just looking to get a little upgrade cheap and easy.

also im looking at tires. any suggestions for the front? I was looking at holeshots and maxxis. There are some cheaper ones on the market. Are they any good? any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,

I had Delta V Force reeds on my 99 Sport. They were about $140, I think. Not a night and day difference, but it seemed to give it a little better throttle response.

If you don't have a pipe and clutch kit, I'd get that before I worried about reeds. You'll get a whole lot bigger gain out of that then just reeds.

If you can just replace the reed pedals that would probably be cheapest. softer more flexible reeds will give better low end, harder more rigid will give better top end. This is what I've read. Myself I bought v-force reads in a kit. good luck. and for the tires I am impressed by the stockers, how ever I will be getting holeshots this summer sometime. My reason is simple, I've never heard anything but good about them.
