Primary Clutch will not budge........
Howdie all.
I'm looking for some ideas here. I'm trying to get the Primary off my scrammy and she'll not budge. I used the search and I found that everyone seems to be able to get thiers to pop right off w/ either the removal tool or the hitch ball and bolt. I'm putting the king kong on the ball w/ my pipe wrench and I crank her down to the point that if feels as though its ready to break. I've even tried tapping the ball w/ a hammer once tightened and mine's not moving. Anyone else had these troubles before?
Thanks

Sometimes it takes a bigger hammer.............
Are you sure the shank on the hitch ball is long enough that it is bottoming out on the crankshaft? or could it be running out of threads before the shank contacts the end of the crankshaft?

Well..........I've tapped the snot out of it but I was kinda cautious about taking a Sosa swing @ it. As far as the ball and bolt I'm using goes; everything is fine. Looked down the hole in the primary w/ a flashlight to make sure everything was doing fine. When I've got that ball as tight as she'll go, I've still got about 1/4 in. between the base of the ball and the end of primary center so I do have room to tighten up more but that aint happening. I was reluctant to heat it but if noting else works, I'll put a little heat on the shaft between the 2 sheeves. Who knows?..........I'll try being a little more aggressive w/ the hammer.

Here's a trick, but you need to get the right puller first. You pack the thread "chamber w/ grease, then just barely start the threads....OF THE CORRECT CLUTCH PULLER . Then take a 1/2" impact and drive it in on wide open. It's a really good idea to wear some safety glasses, and an old shirt. Also, remove the belt if you haven't already. That's to keep from getting grease on it. Violent, but they come off.
