well...2 real day of riding for me today!!!i love my machine!!!so today i was riding on frozen skidoo trails as it was warm last week and things started to melt...now the last 2 nights have been -15C and the trails are rock hard!first i made it up this huge hill that i thought no way on as a month ago my sled wouldn't make it up...then i got a bout 3 more miles up this road when i slid off the packed trail !! o no!! theres still 3 feet of powder under the crust and let me tell you.....qauds dont go through 3 ' of pow!i was so stuck....and all alone no way could i lift it at all...then i start to look around for trees or something to hook on too....but i'm on a mine road and its pretty wide in the summer...so i stretch out all the cable and start to try to hook on too something.......the only thing is this 2.5" poplar maybe 8 feet tall! man looks small but i dig to ground level and wrap the cable right at the base.....i've got about 10" of slack right at this point and the next nearest tree is about 3 feet away...nevermind that im already pulling at a crazy angle...but it is in the right direction to get the wheels back on the hard pack! it works!!!! i get back on ... i love my winch!!!...but...first thing tomorow im going to get some webbing so i have another 40 feet of reach or so and im going to get a snach block so i can change the pull angle to.i found no poblem with steep down hills and the clutch staying engaged and found that on level ground it easily went up to 50mph[more than enough to scare me a few times as the main road was solid ice]
i can hardly wait to get back out
