does anyone know the miles per gallon the polaris sport 400L gets. it is already broke in its a 98 model. i have a HPD clutch kit and a HPD trail pipe if that make a difference. and does any one how far you can go on the reserve portion of the gas.

My 1996 Sport 400L in stock condition seems to get about 70 miles out of a tank while trail riding. I spin the tires and power slide quite a lot and this will burn alot more fuel than putting around. So it is hard to say as there is too much variance depending on the drivers riding style.

Too bad the Sport can't carry extra gas as there is no racks. Either get a rear rack or ride with a friend who has racks and make him/her carry extra fuel. Hee hee.

I guess you will have to do some miles next to someone with a speedometer and divide the miles driven by the gallons used. Depending on the terrain most Xplorer 400s deliver between 16 and 19 MPG. I have also seen 10 MPG in the swamps.
Take it from there. Good luck.
