Is a trail boss 330 right for my wife?
I ride with a large group of buddies in the DE/MD area and we have a nice chunk of private land with tight forestry type trails cut in it. We are a very mixed group with kids and older guys on utility models and my wife wants to come riding too. The problem is she CAN NOT do gears! even an auto clutch she leaves in third to take off etc. She wants something comfortable and easy to use and the trail boss seems right... however she is only 5'1" and very small in the muscle area. The local dealership have let her ride one around the lot but I wanted some feedback from owners on power and comfort, she loves the auto tranny, one lever brakes but I am worried about the long trails up in Paragon park etc wearing her out too soon. Any info you guys have would be great.

The 330 trailboss is a great trail quad. Not to heavy to manuver, not snappy but just smooth and comfortable. It will go just about anywhere most other quads can and cant go. It is bullet proof. If she does not care for speed then this is it. Its top speed is around 50-55 mph. Has lots of pulling torque but not fast. I have NEVER heard complaints on the trailboss except it is not fast.

The 330 will easily hang with a 400 sp. The weight to power is about the same. I have actually seen the 330 take a sp 400 off the line but the sp has a little bit higher top end. If you clutch the 330 it will easily take the 400 sp. But SHHHH dont tell the wife! You never want the wife to have a faster ride than you.

My wife and I just bought our first quads a little over a week ago. I got the SP500HO and she has the TB330. She loves it and it even hauls my 210 pound butt around without problem. I do think a clutch kit would make it a lot more fun but it isn't a must have at all. My SP500 will have the clutch first though!

I just brought home 2 '04 TB330s. They are SUPER easy to steer. The suspension is very comfortable(squishy) and exactly what I wanted in a trail machine. Just about everything I hear about them is that they're reliable as you can get.

My wife loved our trailboss. She also is small and not to strong. Take your wife out by yourself and go at a leisurely pace and let her build up her strength, otherwise she will get discouraged trying to keep up. We found that the power and speed was okay on the trailboss. If you think you need something a little quicker for a extra couple of hundred bucks go for the 350 bruin 2wd. It is automatic transmission plus a drive shaft easy to steer and the supension is good. lol
