Ok now I am curious. The Ramsey winch says that is has a limited lifetime warranty. Once you read the fine print it only covers anything electrical (motors, solenoids, wiring etc is covered for 1 year.
What does the fine print on the Warn say? The web site says you have to read the sheet that comes with the winch.

I considered the Ramsey, it's a good winch but when I saw the thumb switch I said "no thanks" as it's a big ol' thing. The Warn switch is a nice, small, unobtrusive thumb switch that rides immediately above the Hi/Lo slide switch. It's nothing to just raise your thumb, keeping your hand on the grip, and activate the switch. At first I thought the remote was a nifty idea too, I'm a gadget freak but then I started thinking of myself in the pinch that would require a winch in the first place and pictured myself using this little key fob type switch with gloves on and muddy and wet and oooops, I dropped it kind of stuff....again, no thanks!
I read what I thought was going to be a good "Show Down" article between the 2 models and it turned out to be one of the poorest comparison pieces of work I have seen. It was like they didn't want to say anything bad about either. The actual use of the remote nor its ergonomics were discussed. About the only decent info I garnered was that the Ramsey is a slower pull but at draws less amperage. I think that is a good attribute for an ATV with limited battery capacity. Other than that, there was nothing else to win me over and being that I own several Warn Winches on my 400 and a few work trucks as well as my personal truck, I'm sticking with the equipment that's proven itself to me.
I'll take the 3.0ci!
