Default The issue of adding extra lights.......

just wondering, when some of you guys ad extra lights to a sportsman model are they additions or are you replacing the two stock low beams.
i want to get more light at night but i dont know if i should add more or replace the stock ones with aftermarket ones. has anyone buy and added the wiring kit you see on e-bay? how well does it work OR is it even worth it?

p.s i know all to well about the wattage/amperage issues related to this.

I have a 04 500 HO. I added a pair of 55w lights from wal - mart and have had no problems. From what I am told the stator puts out 250 watts and that will handle the extra lights as long as you do not have the Hi & lo beams on at the same time. I have looked into replacing the low beams with brighter bulbs and could find no matches that is why I went for the wal - mart lights. I mounted mine where the winch would go but you can put them where you want.
