Default You service or dealer service????

Hi all. I have had my 2004 SP 500HO and Trail Boss 330 for about two weeks now and they are due for a 20 hour service. I changed the oil in them at 10 hours.

The dealer wants $110 each for the service. Should I take it in or is it something that I can do myself? I have already ordered the service manuals for them and should be getting those in a few days.

What do you think? Thanks for any info or suggestions.

If you have the service manual, then you should be fine. Valve adjustment isnt hard at all. All you need are feeler gauges and a few wrenches. The fluid changes are pretty straight forward. Its also a good way for you to learn more about how your machines work and how to fix them. It will help you in the future

If you're mechanically inclined, do it yourself. The manual is a great help. If you're not sure, come on here and ask. I get my extra money by doing it myself. Just tell the wife how much the dealer charges, and how much it would be if I did it. Can I be the only person in their 40's that still gets an allowance? I do all of my work myself.....the dealer will break it off in ya. That is any dealer, not just polaris. just like scootergpx said any questions just ask.....someone on here will help. Maybe call and ask what they do the frist time.....that way you know what to check, and what to do.

Ya, I agree with BBS, I usually do my service on my quad myself...all the fluids and a valve adjustment every so often...its really not to hard at all..plus if you have a service manuel and some tools you should be fine...it will save you some $$$ and the plus side like he said...It gets you more familiar with your quad and everything on it...
