Default Preload adjustments

When adjusting the preload in the rear shock, I should loosen the top nut and then adjust it my spinning the other nut right? Is there an easy way to spin those nuts?? Am I doing something wrong? I couldn't spin them very easily. Is there a special too? Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks Brad

Bradracer, put a jack under the frame in front of the swingarm and jack it up.This will take the load off the shock spring. Then use the bottom nut and the spring together and turn them. You should be able to get a lot of preload on the spring this way with out a spanner wrench. Bearing in mind the shock threads are clean and have a little oil on them as WD 40.
