pg. 98 02 sp 700 owners manual calls for 27 oz. fluid in tranny

pg .2.10 in the service manual calls for 13.5 oz.

Wish they'd get their act together.

I have 27 in her now.

 

Well, I would rather have too much than too little, so you are probably OK. I think the right number is 13.5, but you might want to confirm with dealer.

 

Have you changed it? How much came out?

 

Interesting..don't you love it when you come to things like that...ya tuff call..but I would have put the 27 in too...better to much than to little

 

you could always put the avg in. be like 20 or something.

 

Service manual for 04 700EFI says 13.5oz or untill the fluid reaches the bottom of the fil plug threads, which ends up being about 27oz![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img] I would go with the bottom of the threads advice.

 

I got about 13 oz out when I drained it.

Dealer said 13.5 oz. Still don't know about the different specs.

 

The proper amount is 13.5 oz. or 1 5/8 inch below the top of the fill plug hole. You can use a zip tie to measure from the very top of the fill plug hole.

 

Seems like I saw a post about this somewhere (hey, at my age remembering where the car keys are is good). They were having trouble with shifting, drained it and only got 13.5 out. They said it took 27 to fill it and it worked fine afterwards.
