Default EFI lights!

I just noticed that my EFI's lights are much brighter than my old 700. I mean these things are great, I wonder why there is such a difference between the two? Another thing is that, when stoped and going the lights stay the same, not brighter then dim again. The more I ride this thing the more I love it. This thing is just awsome to say the least about it!

I thought the EFI had a bigger alternator on it?

You are right BBS, the SP700EFI has a larger 500watt alternator.

I would venture to guess that that would be the reason for the brighter lights and them not getting dim. Makes sense to me

its due to the bigger alternator to power the efi,so there isnt as much as an amperage/wattage draw then you wuld have w a smaller alternator. An alternator doesnt actually charge a battery as many folks think,it actually maintains the electrical system an just add enough boost to the battery to keep it up alil bit above current demand of the E system.I didnt know this but when I worked in automotive boss told me when people run there batteryies down jump em an go sooner youll notice if they dont charge the battery it will cause the alternator to over work an fail.if a alternator full fields or undecharges you will have problems w both the battery an Electrical system.last but not least when something w the E system goes wrong ya start where the e system begins an thats the battery,if the battery isnt abve 9.6 volts on a load test all the dxing in the world will be for nill-Dave

I'm a mechanic by trade, i do it for a living every day for the last 16 years!
an alternator DOES recharge the battery, the problems with a CAR is that if you have a dead/ very low charged battery the alternator works DOUBLE TIME to recharge the dead battery.
WHICH CAUSES THE ALT TO OVER HEAT, then it will soon take a crap on you!
