exhaust is a good start. saves weight and adds power.

 

When I got my new Pro Armor nerfs, they turned out to weigh less than the OEM heel guards that I took off. Big gain in safety for less weight. (The Pro Armors have built-in heel guards)

 

To add to the great suggestions the other's already gave you. Rathracing.com has a chromoly rear subframe. Like 03 Pred stated, there are some great aluminum options for getting rid of the stock, steel framed heelguards. Hot Seat (hotseatperformance.com) has some chromoly a-arms and swingarms. Nicholascycle.com has some great wt. saving ideas also.

Get rid of the stock steel bars. Personal fave is the high bend trailtech (trailtech.net) bars.

 

You could get lighter rims, but they wouldn't be as strong, and you could cut the plastic. Just depends on what you are looking for. I suppose you could get new handlebars and I would say that new bumpers would also weigh about the same or less, and be much more safe. Do away with the airbox and get a clamp-on or a new box. Lose the lights, and depending on what kind of riding you are doing, you could take off all of the skid plates too.
