I read in one of the post that the new 700 is going to be about $8000.00. Now my wife hasn't said a word yet...but I really couldn't blame her if she pitched one if I was going to spend 8 grand...has anybody else heard anything on the price or anything about the specs such as weight, horsepower etc.

well guys you shouldnt have to worry to much if your dealers prices like mine (i think it would) i have a 2000and a half Sp500 with a warn 2000 winch, and the MSRP on that is 7300, and i got mine for 6300, so if your dealers in your area are like mine you should GET A BREAK on price

Where I live, southeastern Wisconsin, the Polaris dealers seem more willing to come down in price than the other companies. For instance, the msrp on the sportsman is more than the grizzly (I'm not sure of exact amounts here) but I could have bought the sportsman for a few hundred less than the Grizz.
It just seems to me that Polaris jacks the msrp of a quad up and then give the dealer more room to bargain with than the other companies. It's looks like a win-win situation.
Either the customer pays the full msrp (big profit) or the dealer sells it at a lower price & the customer is happy for getting it at a low price (slightly less profit & happy customer).
So I guess what I'm saying is that IF Polaris releases a new monster quad with a seemingly sky high msrp, don't fret, you will probably be able to get it for much cheaper.
Of course this all depends on the demand, so if the new machine is selling like hot cakes, then you may have to wait awhile to get a lower price.
These are just MY thoughts and observations, take them for what they are worth.
BTW - No, I have never owned a Polaris (I own a 2K Wolverine) but I do think Polaris is a great company with an agressive marketing team that is willing to give it's customers whatever they want. (except an all out sport quad)

Well if the price for the SP500 price is 6999 I got mine for 6000 so that would be so if it is $8000 I guess I can expect to pay around $7000 I can handle that for 200 more cc's. Some people are paying $1500 for 50 more cc's...
