I would say just go sit on them and see which one you feel comfortable on depending on your size and weight. If you really like the yfz don't not get it because it has a hard seat I heard of this place that puts like an inch of foam in it. If you get the rappy and you race xc you might want to invest in new shocks though because the stock ones are not the best. For trails I would say get whichever one you feel comfortable on (the raptor has reverse which is a big plus) but for xc it's between the yfz and predator. Also, if you feel a little big on the yfz but you want a 450 you could look at the 450r I have been hearing if you go down a tooth in the front it's great for trails.
Pick your favorite color (you can always get aftermarket plastics though)
I couldn't have said it better myself trailrider

if cost is an issue then roll with the predator because its considerably cheaper. But i would say stay away from the honda 450 because its kinks are not yet worked out and not many mods out for it. Compared to raptor and predator. The raptor definetly has a top heavy feel compared to the yfz and predator.

Just bought my Raptor. First quad I've had in about 10 years. My last was a '93 350 4X4 Pol. I really like the Raptor because I don't feel like I'm sitting on the front tires. Being inexperienced with sport quads, the Raptor's torque has saved my bacon more than once. Reverse is nice on the trial when it suddenly dead-ends. My buddy just bought a new YFZ 450. Its much faster than my Raptor but the gas mileage sucks and it has a small (2.5 gal.) tank. I would not be able to get all of what the 450 was designed for out of it. The trails around my house won't allow for it. Word to the wise, if you do get a Raptor, invest in a good set of guards (DG Fat series reccomended) because my stock rear swingarm guard had a 3 inch split after the first ride. The plastic heel guards cracked too.
