I recently bought a 04 sportsman 500 and i am having nothing but problems out of it. It was in the shop neoumerous times within the first two months i owned it and it is in the shop right now it has been there for five weeks and it only needs two small repairs a starter and a speedometer inop. I have had terrible seervice also from my selling dealer Evannsville super bike shop. I also would like to know if any other atv owners have purchase the extended warranty pushed by polaris. I have an extended warranty and my dealer dosnt want to cover my starter because there is a little mud on my atv. If i can not get a starter cover why buy an extended warrranty .
I would like to here others thoughts on this Thanks

 

is there not another dealer around your area ,it sounds to me like this dealer is just lazy and can"t be bothered looing into it and making a few phone calls to the right people,I have never had any extended waranties from polaris but I have bought a lot of atv"s and sleds from them and they have always come good on there warranties even after the warranty period is over ,this is whithin reason of course ,but the key is to have a good dealer who will go to bat for you.

Wow, this is unbelievable, I have been reading through theese postings and there is nothing but good things to say about polaris atv's.
I had seen on another posting that problems that i may be having might be due to the dealer assembly and set up. I believe this may be true because Me and two other friends bought sportsman 500's and all three of us have had nothing but problems w/ our atv's. If any of us ride on a saturday you can pretty much bet we will not be riding on sunday.

 

you should HAMMER that dealer! I have received pi**-poor service from my dealer as well and I don't have another "local" dealer to work with so I'll be travelling when I need a dealers assistance. I promised my dealer's sevice department that I would be contacting Polaris Industries to let them know of my situation and you should do the same. Polaris will fail if they don't stay on top of their front line....the dealers. I'm happy with my 2 new quads, just not the dealer!

I also have an extended warranty on BOTH quads but each of them are only about 3 months old. My warranty underwriter is Western and is one of the only that do warranties in California.

Yes. Do a search for superbike shop on the forums. You fellas werent here when all the drama concerning superbike shop was taking place. Its some entertaining reading though[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

My sportsman has been in the shop since 2-20-04 for a starter inop and a spedo inop. Now i think this is ridiculous. What really ticks me off is that the dealer working on my bike has aparently got my parts in three times now, or at least that is what they tell me.
This is unbeliveable. Evannsville Super Bike shop is a terrible polaris dealer

I used to be that way about stuff like this until I got stepped on a few times. It sounds to me like you need to get PISSED and make an appearance at that dealership and get in their face, especially the owner or one of the principals of the operation. I'd be down there every single day, I swear, or at least on the phone a couple times a day.
