One of the guys I ride with was just messing around at a friends house rolling over some small hills. He hit one wrong and the bike's front end dug in pushing him forward into the handlebars. He wasn't going even 10 miles an hour and he still broke out all of his front teeth. It took $3,500 and 2 surgerys to fix the damage. He had a $200 helmet sitting on his tailgate about 25ft from where it happened. I always wear mine. I like having teeth.

The one time I didn't, I introduced my chin to the front rack on my wife's Trail Blazer. Taught me 2 things, 1) take the damn rack off, 2) wear my helmet.

The tekvest is a great addition to wearing a helmet. I have smashed my chest into the handlebars and I have not had a scratch or bruse. They are great. The only complaint is they are warm in the summer months but other than thet they provide great protection.

A little to graphic but have you ever thrown an egg against a solid object? I think you get the picture.

I wear mine 99% of the time, and anyone that wonders why has never seen me drive...
