Steering squeek killing me!
#1
Every time I move the handlebars at all, it creates a very annoying squeek. I've lubed the steering grease fitting twice to no avail. It seems like it is coming from inside the pod?? Is there a bushing or something that I can't see??
Help before I shoot the damned thing!!

I have the same thing and have read about pulling back the boot on the steering joints (where the stem and the tie rods connect) and lubing that up.
I tried lubing the upper bushing, nothing---tried the bottom bushing, nothing---tried the unprotected joints on the tie rods, nothing.....

Besides using a top notch grease like the Polaris all weather, a good shot of Tri-flow will cure your steering pivot blues. Pull the rubber boots back just a bit, and give 'em a squirt.

Not sure what ATV you have, but my '04 700 is doing that and it is coming from the plastic steerting bushing at the top of the post (right under the pod). So, if you think the sound is coming from there, it probably is. I used a very light lubricant on it and it helped for a short time. My next fix will be to take the bushing off and then clean it out and use a good grease on it. Hope that helps.

I had that problem too tried struts, steering. Turned out was the steering ball pivots. (2 on each side) They have rubber boots over them. Pulled boot back after cleaning so don't get dirt in and sprayed with wd-40 which did not last very long then used thet aerosol white grease and has been good ever since.
Good Luck.
