Attention! Question about Superwinch switch!
#1
I finally wound up going to K-mart and buying a Superwinch T1500 a few minutes ago. They only had one and it was opened. I checked everything and it was there, so I bought it and got 10% off. I got home and found the instructions were gone and part of the switch was gone. Are there two parts to the switch? I need the wiring instructions also.

Don't know what "vintage" T1500 you got; there have been changes with the rocker switch assembly recently--you DO have a rocker switch, right?
For technical information on your parts, contact jack@superwinch.com or telephone Superwinch technical service ((860) 928-7787) and ask for Jack Jolly.
Wiring is pretty simple, with a VOM, you can find the right contacts. The switch has four terminals, battery +, battery -, winch "A," and winch "B." The Battery + and - wires go into the switch; the outgoing connections to the winch motor reverse when the switch is moved to the "Out" or "In" positions. When the switch is at rest, or "Off," a shunt (dead short) is applied across the outgoing terminals (for dynamic winch motor braking). When "Off," the positive battery connection does not contact any other terminal; this may be true for the battery negative terminal also.
With an ohm-meter, find the two contacts electrically connected when the switch is in the "Off" position, these two go to the winch motor. Find a terminal that connects to no other terminal when in the "Off" position; you may use that one as the battery positive terminal; the remaining terminal is battery ground. Switch connections to the winch motor around to obtain proper "Out" and "In" rotation if necessary. Good luck!
