2 exausts

Default 2 exausts
Ive had a predator for a few months, and I cant figure out why 2 exuast pipes come out of one cylinder, and then merge into one at the end. just wondering, thankyou

mostly looks is all, they could have gone with one large header pipe and gotten same performance, two looks better!

It is becuase you have four valves in the motor.

That's part of the deal.. but some 4 valve (2 exhaust) motors use a single head pipe.

The 400ex, z400,raptor,ds all have two headpipes

or 5 valve (YFZ) but yeah 2 intake valves and two exhaust valves, in the YFZ im not sure if it's 3 intake and 2 exhaust or 3 exhaust 2 intake....anyone know about the yfz valves?

i would have to bet its three intake and 2 exhaust beings that u would have more fuel coming in and only two exhaust would create more back pressure equalling more power, correct? scott

CRF 450 Honda and YZF 450 use one head pipe. I think the Sportsman 400 and 500 only use one also. Scrambler 500?

The 400SP and 500 Scram and SP all have 4 valves and one large headpipe
