Why do you need new clutch covers? Are the clutches hitting the covers or just the belt?

The front drive clutch rubbs the cover a little. But if I touch the gas a little it goes away. It only does this at idle. I have a picture of this on my bio. But it still isn't up yet.

Try adjusting the cover, there should be a support bracket at the front of the inner cover that attaches to the cover and the frame, make sure it's there and not broke/loose. There is some adjustment to it at the frame bolt. The front clutch may also be worn allowing it to hit, check the washer/clutch cover at the bolt that holds it to the crank for wear and make sure the bolt is tight.

hello

if you are going to put new sprockets on ( this is just my 2 cents ) take that new polaris chain and do 1 of 2 things . take a picture and put it on e-bay for sale or throw it in the garbage can where it belongs . buy a good did x or o ring chain . the stock polaris chains are junk . i have only adjusted my x ring chain once in a year and a half . before with the polaris chain it was once every ride . like i said just my 2 cents but it was the best 60 bucks i ever spent .

Well my Bio pics are up so you guys can see my covers, my chain, and my front bushing. I was thinking of putting that chain on EB and getting a good one that was made for abuse.

I think you may need to replace your motor mounts and not your cover. HPD sells some heavy duty mounts. Also might be time to get new buttons for your secondary.

Here is an update. I replaced the front sprocket and upgraded to a gold o-ringed chain. I bought a tensioner. It is yet to be installed. The quad still shuttered a little under take off...I took the belt cover off and pulled the secondary. I have 3 shims it it...I left it alone. I did loose one of the plastic pucks or whatever in the secondary. It was still in there. The bolt was broke off in the cover. The other 2 look good. They show a little use on them. One side is worn a little more than the other. I guess I will try an ez out to get the rest of the screw out of the other one. If I am luck enough to get it out I will put it back together. I was told if I cant get it out I have to uprade to aluminum pucks. How would the get installed if I still have a screw in the disk?

I did adjust the chain to the directions in my book. I have a wench welded to the back and I use it to pull the back of the quad down so the sprockts and pivot arm were strait. I made the chain tight with a 1/4 play. Then let the quad back up. By looks. It still looks loose to me. The top chain is almost rubbing the arm. I guess it is ok.

I have removed a few broken button screws with a drill press, try to center punch the screw then start with small drill bits and work up to the correct tap size for the hole (I don't remember offhand) Replace all the screws while your at it, you need all the buttons in place for the clutch to work properly. Your adjusting the chain properly, it will look loose. The tensioner will cure that. The HD buttons require all the holes to be drilled out larger but I would try to save what you have first. The screws are self tapping, they lock in pretty tight so the easy-out normally won't do it on such a small screw.
