Hey Toad, I still hear you screaming when loading that boss. Did you get ramps (LOL).
Lukester -- DUDE!
Nope, never did get ramps. I borrowed my closest neighbor's stuff. And as I ride the Trail Boss more I feel kinda like a jerk for my initial fear of loading it on a truck. Now--- I think I could load it up blindfolded! Live-n-Learn. Peace out...

Ok I looked at my manual and it says to run it for 20-30 seconds. This will pull the level down in the tank and give you the correct readings. I can tell you that all the dealers are not putting in extra oil! With the cost of products you would think the would short you, not over fill.

Are you draining the oil pump sump as well? It holds about a cup. As for the other stuff there is always some fluid that can't be easily drained that remains. Altitude air temp and Barometric pressure account for some fluctuations as well.

fishslab, I don't know what quad middin is runnin', but if it's a 4 stroke, he may not have a sump? Anyway, my brother bought a new Polaris and it was 1/2" high on the stick too.
xcrider, Doesn't seem to matter hot or cold, still 1/2" high. I don't know what's going on.

the Polaris Sportsman 400 and 500's have a sump that holds about a cup of oil.. I always find these overfilled when I service them due to sump not being drained...this also forces oil into airbox...
