Water pump ( I think )
#1
Ok I just started my 1998 Polaris Sport 400 and out of the right side of the motor the anti-freeze is shooting out. Its rite near a bolt it looks to be comming out from it. Are the water-pumps hard to replace and about how much are they?
Thanks all you ppl who help and read.

There is a weep hole for the waterpump right next to a nut for the waterpump housing. If you are leaking antifreeze through the weep hole, it is time to replace at least the waterpump bearing, seals, and gasket - there are other things to check while inside to make sure they are not the cause of the problem (ie. balance shaft bearing clearances)
Here is a diagram of your waterpump: '98 Sport 400 waterpump - this will give you an idea of what it will take to get to it.
If you decide to proceed, a service manual will come in very handy, especially with the pics it has. There have also been a lot of posts on here about it if you will do a search on waterpump, and, as usual, there are plenty of us here that have done it before, and we are always here to help you through.
