Scrambler question

Default Scrambler question

for all you scrambler 500 owners...is it normal to have thick white stuff around the inside of the oil resivor....right on the top....the oil is fine...not discolored or anything..

I think that means that you have a little bit of water in there. When was the last time you changed the oil? If it's due for a new oil change make sure you get everything tight when putting it back together and check it afer a while and see if it still has the white stuff. Also, I would call the dealer and ask them about it.

that is condesation build up from water in your oil tank, if its alot i would suggest an oil change and always make sure fill cap is tight when riding in wet conditions

i just changed the oil in it about a week ago and it still has that white stuff towards the top...not to worried tho

same thing would happen to my scram even after i changed the oil in the winter it was white ice...

its the condensation thing. that got me real nervous the first time i saw it. drain the resivior and the crankcase then do a very short oil cycle and change again. fixed mine but still get a ever so thin film. i heard this happens more in winter when quad is not warmed completely up. good luck
