I saw a metallic silver SP500 last week. It looks great.
Wish it had came out several months ago.
Good choice.

you can by new plastic in the grey or yellow. Yes use low range , in the slow going slop, that is a must on the big bore engines.

Don't take your responsibilities lighly you have just purchased the flagship of the ATV industry and must represent the sport accordingly.

Here's the ride report I said would be coming, First let's get to the two negatives with the SP500 I bought, the front rack has a RPM sensitive vibration that is very annoying while riding, second and this is something that should NEVER happen on any ATV, the gas cap leaks gas!The rack I will fix myself the dealer is holding the cork replacement seals for me to pickup tomorrow he offered to ship them to me but I prefer to have them in hand. I got two because I do not trust this setup on the gas cap. the reason I'll fix the rack myself is the bike is 120 miles from my home at my cabin.
We rode 85 miles this weekend and the SP500 did well no other problems, starts right now with no choke, idles smoothly, good power, very good ride, the front end is heavy, we rode 75 miles on the Gladwin Trails and it's not as responsive as other bikes I've ridden but keep in mind what it's designed for, I have to admit I was surprized at the heavy feeling steering, the Grizz we ride with is lighter feeling.
I did not have the chance to really test it in the mud as the private land marsh we ride has somewhat dryed up but we did run 12 to 14 inches of water with both sand and mud bottoms and maybe 8 to 10 inches of mud alone, the Grey Ghost just walked right though it, no test, did pull out my buds Banshee.
For those who are thinking about purchasing this ATV keep in mind it is heavy and sits high, on a tight left turn down hill it will sit up on two wheels but I quickly got it back down by shifting my weight. The engine breaking system works very well and slows the machine right now I found I did not use the brakes as much as usual.
Time will tell how well the SP500 holds up and I will update the story as we ride more, I do think it is a good machine and will be adding a 60" plow to push snow this winter.Did not install the winch this weekend but will soon and try to put the rumors to rest.I was assured the tube bumper and winch kit were made to fit with no re-work.One more thing it has a huge reserve that it forces you to switch to after only a relatively short ride.
Regards, SwampDog

if u want it to steer easier put mudruners on it, lots of people on hear have done this and said it makes the steering easier.

when u say its not as responsive as other quads u have rode, what other quads are u comparing it to?

can u post a pic of the silver sp500 our dealer never got one and i would like to see what they look like.

I'll look into the mudrunners.. Thanks

I didn't want to compare it to a midsize thats why I made the direct comment about my pals Grizz,
I have not ridden the Ruby yet.

There should be some pics on a friends site shortly, I'll post it when their up

Got it at LaBarrons in Troy, Mi.

Full Throttle in Lansing was at $6300 OTD but wanted $6999 plus for the silver.

Honda East in Ohio was asking $6049 plus Mi. sales tax and doc fees.

When we head to the Mounds I'll give ya'a shout Bill, thanks for the offer.

Regards SwampDog
