I got a new HMF pipe for my predator. I put it on tonight but I haven't gotten the quite core yet.
I put on the pipe, a K&N filter, 155 main as recomended, and the fuel screw 3 turns from all the way in, as recomended.
I took it for a ride, but only for a couple minutes. It was 39 degrees. It seems to sputter around for a second when I shift gears and hit the throttle again. Why do you think it sputters? Is it too rich? or do I just need to run it longer? I need help!
MAN, that pipe is so friggen loud, I can't believe it. It sounds like a harley. I need to get the quite core before my neighbors flip.
So far, the power seems like a tremendous difference, In first gear, I can lean forward over the handlebars, punch it and the front end will come right up. I don't even need to put any weight into it in second gear either. This baybe pulls hard!

lol, j/k I guess I don't know what you consider a big sputter. It is definetly noticeable, but if I keep on the throttle hard, it hesitates for about 1 to 1 1/2 seconds. Never did it before.

hmm im not complete sure but when i just jetted mine ( was a 130 jet and i thought i was drilling it to a 150 but i think i want a drill bit to big and it sputterd until i got to give it full throttle so i just went to get one ) so maybe try a smaller jet....did u mess with the clip any??
theres a guy on here that has a pred with a hmf i forget his name ill look for it and you could ask him what his set up is.

thanks, that would really be helpfull if you could find his name. The HMF websited said a 155 jet was recommended, and someone said they are usually pretty accurate with that. Maybe not though, do you think this is still safe to ride though, it doesn't sound at all like a lean problem does it? Im used to working on snowmobiles, not too familiar with 4 strokers
