sportsman 600 throttle cable
#1
I am having trouble adjusting the throttle cable on my bike. The engine rpm changes every time I start the bike. Just when I think I have it , it changes. And also when the handels bars are turned from left to right I was just wondering if anyone else has had this same problem with thier bike.

Benn ther and had that!!!! Mine was doing that right after I finished installing polaris's new carb
update kit. Finally realized what others were taling about! Your cable is too tight! slide back the plastic
sleave from both ends of the adjustment end of the cable, between the throttle lever and the headlight assy.,
then loosen it up until you have about 1/8 inch of play, or just a little less. It made more sense to me
when I popped the cover off the top of the box on top of the throttle lever on the handle bars. Kind of
helped me understand how the safety switch works in case of a stuck throttle too!

Thanks for the help with the throttle cable. The bike is running and starting better, but the low speed idle still varies from about 850 rpm to 1100 . Tried adjusting screw on carb but didn't hep.I was wondering if new carb kit from Polaris would remedy some of these problems as well as problems in winter.
If anyone has any input I sure would appriciate it.
Thanks
