Default which one trial boss or trail blazer

Guys I am looking for a quad for my daughter she likes the looks of the trail blazer (flames) but I'm not sure I like the idea of fourstroke better than twostroke just because of regulations in some states. I need a comparision between the two from people who have them or have riden both enough to know. what is the difference in performance between the two. Looking for trail riding rocks loose terrain big fairly long hills some water and small amount of mud. I know the Boss weighs about 40 some pounds more. She is small and has rode a trail blazer for a few minutes once she liked the stearing on it how does the boss compare. Anything you guys can think of to help me get a feel for both these quads. She has to have a auto shifting on a hill is not something she wants to think about. Thanks guys.

The Boss will be more comfortable, has a lot more low end torque, and is better in the mud. The Blazer is easier to steer, quicker, has a littlle more zip than the Boss. I've noticed the front end on the Blazer likes to come up a little more when going up hill than the Boss (when giving it gas), mostly because it has nothing on the front end. Down the road, if she decides she wants a little more power, you can get a lot more out of the Blazer than the Boss. As far as looks, the Blazer looks a lot sportier. If you're worried about the reliability of a 2 stroke, I haven't had any problems with mine. Once you get the first tank of gas through it and get your air mix right, you're good to go. I haven't had any problems with either of mine that weren't rider related.

Well i think i would get the boss probably because they are more of a utility than the trailblazer and you can still get the same out of a boss that you can for a trailblazer so the boss has more to it. The trailblazers to me seem sort;ve cheapy but thats just my opinion. the boss is a fourstroke and i like that over the trailblazer two stroke. The boss goes just as fast and has just as much power so i would recomend the boss. Just my opinoin

A good buddy of mine that I ride with has the trail boss....He loves it...except that its not the fastest thing and can't quit keep up with my scrammy.. but for a two wheel drive auto its a good machine...we mainly do trail riding and his boss eats up the hills with ease...he has some aftermarket rears with more tread and I have yet to see him get stuck once in mud....its a very reliable machine and for trail riding its excelent...I would like to have one but I need a little bit more power and more speed for my liking. it just depends on whats her liking...the blazer is more sporty and the boss is utility..but the boss is really comfortable to ride.

To start off - how old is your daughter and how much does she weigh, and how much seat time does she have on an atv? These are basic things to consider before buying a quad. My wife has a trailblazer 250 with only 1 mod on it which is a K&N filter. She seems to like it just fine. I have a 12 year old daughter that weighs about 85 pounds and she seems to be able to handle riding it just fine. Not enough power to get her into trouble, but enough power to keep her out of trouble. As far as a trailboss goes, this is an excellent bike. it has a lot of low end for a beginner, but will do about the top speed of 55 miles/hour. both quads are very reliable. but of the two, depending on the your daughters weight and age it seems the 330 may be the better choice. quite honestly it is like riding a cadilac. but the trailblazer has more power potential. I hope this helps you in your decission.

TrailBlazer is a great machine.

The one thing that might change your mind is the 03 and newer trailblazers have the LONG TRAVEL suspension.
Blazer front 8.2 , Rear 10.5
Boss front 6.7 , rear 9.0
Those advatages along with the new seat on the Blazer, I have to believe the Trailblazer would ride better, only 03 models and forward.

Not that being said, I would be very hesitant in buying a NEW trailblazer because there are SOOOO many on the used market due to the fact that people so quickly out grow the bike and want more. They loose there A$$ on resale.
You should be able to pic up a nice 2001 or 2002 for around $1800.00 or so. save yourself at least $1200.

GREAT ADVISE ..... bubba/jnds400

here's my take ...we own both ....

bought a used 2000 Trailblazer for $2000 (500 miles - 2 years ago)
has on it rear rack, rock guard, gas gauge, speedo and cover ....... did about 50 mph ..... very sporty feel ... but HEAVY for a 250 !!! takes abuse well ,,,,, nothing broke to date ... since last week ( 1550 miles ) I have put on severe duty brake kit and a HPD ( trail kit) pipe & msa, uni, etc... and it now SMOKES the Boss and has a nice bling bling ting ting too it !!!!!

Bought a new 2003 Trailboss - 7 months ago ( I know the owner so I got it at cost $3300 + $140 for speedo ) does a little over 50, come w/ stock racks ( rear rack looks great- but im cutting the front one off - prior years didn't have one ) no gas gauge ??
but does feel like a feather pillow under your rear !!! plus it has more OFF-ROAD abilty ...... though the wife put it on its side ( $100 throttle lever and last month cracked/broke the floorboard fender $140, ouch ,,, seems the Boss is WEAKER in that dept.
the plastic doesn't GIVE like the Blazer !!! something to consider !!!!

both machines are great for starter ( wife/son ) though they have the same frame/wheel base the wife sure thinks the Blazer is narrower , its a visual thing .... though as stated the Blazer offers more travel ( 03+)

both quads in the mud will cover both you and the quad from head to toe..... little protection is offered on either !!!

the Blazer is oil-injected but eventually you will replace the piston/upper end .......

enjoy !!!!

Thanks for the replies guys confirms what I was thinking. I am going to look for nice used trailboss I think the fourstroke will be better for some of the longer climbing trails where she has to slow down to work her way around and over obsticals. I will just need to put some cool graphics on it for her. Thanks again for the feedback. She has been riding for about 2 years and needs something bigger than a kid quad for the places we like to go.

Pretty much the same comments here as the others, it all depends on what kind of riding she does and likes. For hill climbing I would probably prefer the boss as th four stroke would be better I feel for just trail riding with through hills, but for flatter trail riding or speed I like the blazer at is is a little peppier, but I am more used to two strokes and if you keep it in the band it will fly more than the boss. So as the others have said, it depends on her, but make sure she doesn't pick one on looks, as we all know that is the wrong way.
