A dyno places a load on the engine. Thats what it needs for the rings to seat properly not RPM"S your homemade dyno does not put a load on the engine. Free reving with no load would be a bad idea. And not properly break it in. You can shift alittle sooner to give it some load without haveing to do 100 MPH no need to go faster than your current riding ablitity to break it in.
Heres how Id do it .
Warm it up then get rolling shift into a higher gear 3 or 4th let it slow down under compression then load it pretty good up to say 3/4 throttle when the rpm's start to get up there no to high (no need to rev the **** outta it the cams and small parts need to beark in a little easyer than the lower end and rings) Anyhow get up some r's then let it slow down under compression repeat this loading cycle servreal times throughout your day of break in rideing avoid prolonged idil, running at the same throttle for long periods, and way high rpm's. You can even load it under full throtttle just let off before the rpm's hit the rev limmiter.
The idea in not running full throttle for break in IMO is just a way of the factory trying to keep poeple from over reving or hitting the limiter a bunch during break in.

Is it you're first time for you hosed. Ride them hard, just take care of them when you're done. I like seconds.

Ya, you COULD make you jackass 'DYNO'
But the the next post on this page would say

pipe loged in head!'
