How to differentiate SP 500 '00 1st & 2nd Edition?

Are you talking about the little holes for the main air vents? If so, my SP has those little holes on the left side of the tank, but I noticed that a friend's yellow SP 500 bought after mine does not have those holes. Is it a sign?

MINE DONT HAVE THOSE LITTLE HOLES ON DA LEFT SIDE
IT DONT HAVE THEM AT ALL AND I JUST GOT IT LIKE A MONTH AGO SO IS MINE A 2ND OR 1ST EDITON AND
1ST: DOES IT MATTER IF IT IS 1ST OR 2ND EDITION
2ND: WHAT DIFFERNT DOES IT MAKE

Look at serial numbers....

XXXXXXXXXB
XXXXXXXXXC
XXXXXXXXXD
The X is the number/letters, the A, B, etc. is differen't "editions" you could say.
The new ones don't have the holes, not sure why. Some Magnum fender pieces were recalled for not having holes, but no Sportsmans were.
