What all do i have to do to get my axle and bearing carrier out of my bike? I am tering the whole thing down to paint the frame and am stuck here. I have the chain off, the sprocket unbolted, the two main bolts off of the carrier and the bottom portin of the brake assembly off. how do i get that thing out?

I believe there is a plate that bolts to the axle on the brake side that needs to come off. It's the bracket that holds the brakes on.Remove that then you should be able to slide it to the right side. This is looking at the bike from behind. You may have to tap it with a dead blow hammer. You will also have to remove the hub on the left side of the axle.

Default Help removing axle!!

scrambler123 my bike is a 500 4x4 but i think they are similiar.
I have the owners manual and have replaced the bearing in my bike before.

have you loosened the jam nut on the right hand side that is up against the sprocket hub? be careful they tighten up on themselves and can strip your axle. I cant rember tapping anything with a hammer, it slid right out. You also have to loosen the carrier bolts (which you have done) and i removed the caliper mount on the lhs. good luck!
