removing clylinder head help
#1
i wanted to inspect the top of my piston,so i took the head off.i didnt drain the antifreeze and when i took it off antifreeze ran down between the piston and the cylinder walls,is this bad?the top of my piston is black and its also pitted,is thhat normal?thanks for the help..

dont know about the antifreeze but it looks as if were sanded and it is black crusty stuff, thats how mine was and i think that that means its too lean. been asking this for a long time, whats the black crusty stuff? does that mean its rich or lean??

The black stuff is just a carbon build up....you don't judge how lean/rich your quad is running by how the piston looks, keep checking the spark plug to decide....the antifreeze should be fine, I don't think any can seep anywhere, try to blow out what you can with an air gun.
