Default Possible Electrical Problem/Reverse

I have a 2001 Sportsman 400. A couple weeks ago I noticed that the speed odometer wasn't working correctly. It would read 30mph when the machine wasn't moving. Basically...it was jumping all around.

Now.....when I shift it into Reverse....the atv shuts off. Most of the time I can keep it running in reverse if I hold the Reverse Override button in.

Any ideas?

Thanks Shawn

Default Possible Electrical Problem/Reverse

The speedometer bouncing all over is the sending unit/ pickup located on the right front brake caliper. It is pretty common for these things to go out. As far as the reverse problem, I am at a loss. I would guess there is a problem with the reverse limiter that allows it to kick in even at idle.?
